Made-to-measure wardrobes for the bedroom, with hinged or sliding doors, built in wood at the Fimar workshop in Inverigo, Italy. Width, height and depth come from a survey of the room; finishes, handles and internal fittings are chosen model by model, from Segno and Dream to Tratto, Line, Sipario, Max4 and Emotion.

HINGED DOOR WARDROBES.

Hinged wardrobes

The hinged-door wardrobe opens the entire front in one go: the whole wardrobe is visible and within reach in a single movement. At the design stage it is the most flexible solution, as the modules can be placed side by side freely and the composition can run all the way up to the ceiling. Door clearance does need to be taken into account, however: around sixty centimetres should be left free in front of the doors.

SLIDING DOOR WARDROBES.

Sliding wardrobes

Sliding doors take up no room when they open: they run parallel to the front, which makes them the natural choice when the bedroom is narrow or the bed sits close to the wardrobe. The depth increases by a few centimetres to house the tracks, but the large doors become a continuous surface to be treated as part of the wall: wood, matt lacquer or glass.
